England FC. My take on things.

Well they are like trains my posts, nothing for a while then two in two days! Anyway.... Once again England have came, have seen and have been conquered. And once again the media circus goes full circle. Pre tournament, pundits and media alike were once again getting behind team England highlighting that they seemed more relaxed this time, more joyful, and that King Woy had introduced an attacking flair last seen with Brazil 1970. I am not English, but I said before the tournament that at least England were starting to play with a little more freedom, a little more adventure and giving their attacking players more license than under previous regimes. The beacons were too dim This is course is fine in friendlies. This of course is probably fine for the first game of the tournament where things aren't won or lost. But at the end of the day, when it was all on the line in game 2, England once again resorted to type. The tempo was slower, adventure seemed cut, and they again

I liked this. Miami Heat fans!!

I edge closer to San Antonio Spurs win

Goddamn Diaw....you da man!! Game four, and this just had to be the bounce back game. With Miami beaten in Miami all the Heat had to do tonight was turn up and get the series back to 2-2 and then a shoot out would ensue in the remaining games. So hands up how many people saw this? I must confess, this has worked out far better than I had imagined as I am now sitting pretty on a Spurs 3-1 score going into game 5 with a pre series bet of Spurs 1.75 (£500) and then a 2.28 series bet (£200) to run. Surely San Antonio can't chuck this away? The answer is.......they won't! It's a primary reason I tipped Spurs to win this thing and even splurged more on them again. I firmly believe that San Antonio are currently far better than Miami. I think the hard work was done in the previous play off matches and that Miami are starting to look a tired side. The last couple of seasons there's no doubt that Miami has been kind to me. Those third and fourth quarter runs have been

NBA Finals - Where we stand and a stunning night for Kawhi Leonard

A stunning performance from Kawhi Leonard So a stunning Spurs victory last night ensured that Pit's Betting is on course to claim some series win money. There will be little doubt that Miami will come out firing for the remaining games after being so comprehensively beaten last night, but my money and confidence in Spurs is well founded I believe. I took out a £500 punt on San Antonio pre series at 1.75, and after Miami's win in game two, Spurs went out to 2.28 for the series, of which I took a further £200 before last nights match. Even though San Antonio lost game two, I was left with the opinion that they let it slip more than Miami won it. I am also still of the opinion that San Antonio are the better side. They seem to have more energy and appear just fresher than Miami. So we went into game 3 last night (of which I placed x2 stake on San Antonio +4.5pts) full of confidence, which paid off by the half time buzzer. In truth, although Miami had one of their legendary

2014 NBA Finals

Bit late to the party as got up late after alarm.....but took out -3.5 Spurs for game one 1.90, and a series bet taken early in week at 1.75. First Spurs punt was a double stake and the Series bet was a x10 (£500) punt.

After the dust has settled it's time to reflect on THAT Froch fight

So I've had time to reflect Froch-Groves II and I have to say that I am delighted that one of the biggest single punts I've had on sports bets landed no problem. In the run up to the bout, I said all week on Twitter that I could only ever see Carl winning after he learnt the lessons of fight one. Froch had too much on the line in an already fabulous career. But this fight would be the one that compounded his legacy. Froch was around 1.79/1.78 through the build up and I drip fed some money on him the week before, but late money meant that he was around 1.71 come fight night. I'll admit to umming and arring over it, but in a two horse race with one of those horses having my full confidence, I had to take the plunge; and so I did. My big concern was the early rounds in which I felt that Groves would once again look to finish things early. However, Froch had other ideas and got his tactics spot on. He kept Groves at arms reach until that defining moment in which he mana
