Saturday review, today's thoughts

Tough old day yesterday, that was corrected with a flurry of late bets that gave me profit. A nice Hawks/Raptors double came in nice as did Utah Jazz covering the +13.5 handicap. The darts is continuing to baffle, although I did have a cash out lumper on Whitlock. Wrexham were the darlings of the day who got me out of some shit. Lay of Hyde at 1-0 and Wrexham to win at 2-2 game state both landed comfortably enough in the end. Onto today and there's a mixed bag between some Italian stuff, a horsey bet and a double. Siena 2.14 in the early kick off today look nice as do Avellino at home to Padova. 2.04. Hurricane Fly is being backed at Leopardstown at 2.00pm (2.28) and my double for the day is Fenerbahce/Aberdeen at 1.89. The rest will be some inplay if I fancy it.

Saturday preliminary footy bets

Hull +0.75 , 2.05. Sunderland +1.5, 1.87. Fulham +0.5, 1.90. Liverpool +0.75, 1.91. Swansea +1.5, 1.83. Villa, 1.95. Newcastle, 1.78.  Avellino DNB, 1.98. West Ham +1, 1.84. Zulte +1, 1.84. Varese 2.16.  Siena DNB, 2.08.

Weekend review

What can I say, it was a bumper weekend. Saturday returned winnings of around £60, but Sunday was the real money maker. 16 bets, 13 wins, 3 losses returned us profit of around £225, taking December to +700 and the overall profit since August to almost £3230! Spurs was a lovely three bets, Spurs DNB, overs and BTTS. Bet of the weekend I would say was Newcastle's 2.42 away to Crystal Palace. Personally, I thought that was printing money. One thing which is continuing to vex, and it's why I've put it on the back burner for a while,. is the basketball. Some weird and strange results of late, compounded by Oklahoma losing to Toronto last night. I haven't even enough faith to back Miami Heat or San Antonio Spurs with such conviction right at this time. So we'll have to see how these trends pan out.

Saturday football bets

A decent day yesterday saw us back into the £300s for December, and today I'm going bumper on the day. 22 bets, and here they are. Newcastle 2.42. West Ham +1.5, 1.82. Norwich +0.5, 1.84. Thursdy Europa betting preview

Such a fun, fun competition As everyone knows, this Europa thing is a lottery, but where's the fun in avoiding this little 'gem' of a tournament. My bets for tonight are as follows. Zulte Waregem play Kazan at 6.00pm, with the away side having already qualified. Zulte must believe that Wigan will win their game and so the game will have much more importance to the Belgians than the visiting Russians. For this reason, and their very good home record, I'm going to take Zulte -0.25 at 2.14. PAOK play Alkmaar, and with nothing on the match really (without fully knowing if top or 2nd makes any great difference) I can't have Alkmaar a goal worse off in a nothing match, so I'll be looking to back those at 1.98 +1 goal advantage. I'm also going to have a bit of a flutter on Lazio tonight. Klose is back in the Lazio squad, and I believe goals will fly in. The over 2.5 at evens looks delicious and I'm also backing Lazio to score two goals at 1.80. Th

Does Miami Heat have bigger problems than first thought?

James simply can't do it all anymore Things started so brightly for Miami last night as they looked to put down a marker against play-offs rivals Indiana and all seemed rosy in the garden once more. Extending their lead to 13 points in the first quarter, the Heat looked like the rampaging bulls of old and it looked briefly like a home humiliation was on the cards. But four quarters is a long time in basketball and once Indiana found a way of containing James they slowly eased their way back into the match with baby steps. They were still down 13 late in the second but the turning point was Indiana cutting that to just 7 at the half time mark. Miami then had five plays stuck on 47 points as Indiana looked to get into their stride, and by the halfway point of the 3rd Indiana had finally gone into the ascendency. With the lead going to 9 at its highest, the Pacers comfortably won by 6 in the end to ensure that not only they won, but that my -2.5 points bet was covered. Up to

Today's betting preview

I'm shit at this. Please ignore! Whilst I don't have the facts at hand, I'd say that my history of UCL betting has been shite. But I'm willing once again to enter the fray in tonight's action for my sins. Firstly Bayern v City, and I just cannot have City a goal and half better than Bayern without putting a few quid on it. At the end of the day, we have two giants of European football (at least with regards to City's squad) and whilst City on the road haven't set the world alight, they will be hurting from that pulverizing they took first time around. It's either same again which will put a gigantic dent in their confidence for the rest of the season or they can put up a fight. Whilst they may not be able to get up for Stoke away, I sense that all will have something to prove tonight. City +1, 1.80 is my bet. Benfica have fucked me about all season. I wouldn't be surprised looking back through the betting history if they have cost me more in

Monday betting

Can't be arsed with anything tonight straight up, so I like to take the underdogs in these situations. With that being the case, it's Metz on the half goal handicap, Hull +1 and Sivasspor +1. Metz are in very decent form and although Creteil have a hold over them recently at Creteil, Metz are due one against them. Hull showed great spirit against LIverpool, defending in numbers and leaving Liverpool play their football in non dangerous areas. Swansea are likely to fall into the Liverpool trap and mong about it with it for long periods. Hull played some decent football themselves and they'll be no mugs. With a plus one goal I think they'll put up a fight. Not a great deal between Besiktas and Sivasspor so again I'll be opting for the handicap; away side at +1.

Is this one of the great form turnarounds ever? Omiya Ardija, J-League

Omiya Ardija took a remarkable 36 points from their first 45 points in their respective league this season, winning an impressive 11 and drawing 3. They had just ONE loss in that time in the league. Since the 10th July though, they recorded just THREE POINTS from a possible FIFTY ONE (winning 1-0 at home to Yokohama) losing 14 games in the process. So from taking 36 points out of a possible 45, they then conspired to take just 3 points from the next 51?!? Crazy of what?
